Live Correspondent: ACI Logistics Limited offered a job to Alamgir Hossain of Bogura, who went viral on the social media in recent times by giving an advertisement 'I want to teach in exchange for meals twice'. Samsuddoha Shimul, director of chain shop Shawpno, handed over the appointment letter to Alamgir on behalf of Sabbir Hasan Nasir, executive director of the company.

Bogura Superintendent of Police (SP) Sudip Kumar Chakraborty was present that time at his office at around 7.30 pm on Wednesday. Sudip Kumar Chakraborty said, “I have called Alamgir Hossain to my office today and talked to him for a long time. He described the miserable condition of his impoverished family.

It seemed that there was no evil intention behind this advertisement. No evidence of criminal activity against him was found as per the information of the intelligence. Everything, including the call records of his cell phone is being investigated.”

The SP said, “Several companies contacted me to provide job to Alamgir Hossain. He (Alamgir) has been offered a job to relieve his  frustration of not getting any job. Right now, he will draw a salary of Tk 18,000 per month. With it, he can easily send some money to his family at home apart from other expenses, including food.”

Earlier, the SP called Alamgir Hossain to his office. Alamgir Hossain said, “Some online portals reported that the police were not finding me. Then, I myself contacted the police in the district. Later, the top police officials of the district, including the SP, talked to me about various issues for a few hours. After knowing everything, the SP offered the job.”

Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) in Bogura Ali Haider Chowdhury said, “It seems after talking to Alamgir that he is  really poor. Out of frustration of not getting a job, he gave the advertisement for meals twice a day. He did not do it for any evil purpose.”

A week back,  Alamgir Hossain, an MA in political science from Government Azizul Haque College in Bogura, pasted some advertisements on the walls and electricity poles near his present residence in Zahurul Nagar in Bogura.

Alamgir mentioned his identity as ‘unemployed’ in the advertisement and showed his interest to teach students from class one to twelve in exchange for meals twice a day. The advertisement went viral on Facebook within a short period of time.

Alamgir Hossain's village home is in Burail village of Mohammadpur union in Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat. Alamgir did his graduation from the Department of Political Science under the National University five years ago with first class first.

He also did well in his post-graduation examinations. He could not manage a job after completion of his studies. Now he lives in someone else’s house.
