NSU, City Alo jointly organises two-day fair

NSU Live: The first private university and the number one ranked private university of Bangladesh, North South University (NSU) and City Alo jointly organised the inauguration ceremony of a two-day-long fair titled ‘Alor Mela 2022’ today.

This fair is for women entrepreneurs who are participating in the City Alo Certification Programme. The fair will remain open from 10 am to 8 pm on March 24 and 25, 2022 at Upper Deck Area, NSU. There are 60 stalls built on the fair. Clothing, Delicious food, Handicrafts and Jewellery will be sold through different shops.

A free health check-up from thyrocare will also be available for all. The organisers believe that, the fair will play a vital role to encourage women entrepreneurs and promoting their business.

 

Mashrur Arefin, Managing Director & CEO, The City Bank Limited was present as the Chief Guest. Prof Atiqul Islam, Vice-Chancellor, NSU chaired the event, said a press release. 

Prof Atiqul Islam, Vice-Chancellor, NSU said, “There is a positive correlation between the empowerment of women in a country and the GDP growth of that country. In our country, women are increasingly becoming entrepreneurs, it is a matter of great pride for us.

He praised everyone involved in the City Alo Certification Program.”During this time, he emphasizes leisure, giving time to family and taking rest for own self besides work.

Mashrur Arefin, Managing Director & CEO, The City Bank Limited said, “Formal education is very important for running a successful business. Women entrepreneurs participating in the City Alo Certification Program will be able to run their businesses more successfully through formal education.”

In the meantime, he also said, “City bank will further enhance the collaboration of women entrepreneurs participating in the future City Alo Certification Program and more women entrepreneurs will be able to participate in this certification programme.”

Among others, Prof Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Dean, School of Business & Economics, NSU,Prof. Dr. Sharif Nurul Ahkam, Director, Graduate Studies, NSU and Course Coordinator, City Alo Women Entrepreneurship Program, Jamil Ahmed, Director, Public Relations Office, NSU, women entrepreneurs, faculties, officials and students were also present in the programme.
