Live Correspondent: A collection of stories from millions of inspiring ones by people throughout the country over the last five decades since independence has now been incorporated into a single book.

Social platform ‘Inspiring Bangladesh’ has published the first volume of the book this year in association with the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division and University Grants Commission (UGC) marking the golden jubilee of the country’s independence. Dignitaries from different backgrounds penned 25 inspiring tales from the heart of Bangladesh.

Inspiring Bangladesh is the first social network that motivates people to do something positive for well being of society and the country.

The book began with Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who led the glorious liberation war to free the people from the clutch Pakistani rulers.

In the opening piece of the book styled ‘Bangladesh and Story of Inspiration’, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen highlighted the legacy of the great leader Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the establishment of peace in the region.

“Bangabandhu was a great activist for peace in society through establishing the rights of people. In 1952, the great leader took part in the peace conference in China where he declared his support for any movements for establishing peace in any corners of the world,” reads the article by Momen.

In one part of the writing, the career diplomat recalled the neutral foreign policy of Bangabandhu -- friendship to all, malice to none -- which was first announced before the general election in 1970. It was later incorporated into the 1972 constitution.

The following one tells the tale of the leadership role of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who has been leading the country to fulfill the unfinished dream of the father of the nation of establishing a prosperous country called ‘Sonar Bangla’.

Seasoned academic Prof Sazzad Hossain applauded the role of Sheikh Hasina for crafting the economy to a newer one through implementing long-term policy with her political wisdom.

“Bangladesh is moving forward to the final stage of development. One light bearer has been leading the way to execute the mega activities of inclusive development. The young generation can take inspiration from the life and work of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to move forward in their careers,” reads a portion of the article.

In another article, Prof Sazzad mentioned the launching of satellite Bangabandhu-1 as a milestone for the nation under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina followed the philosophy of her father to become self-sufficient in every sector. By launching Bangabandhu-1, Bangladesh entered the elite club of satellite-owning countries. The nation has a mega infrastructure of telecommunications of its own,” reads the article.

State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak shared his unique experience to become a part of the inspiring journey of Digital Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inspired the nation through her visionary leadership through conceptualizing the ‘Digital Bangladesh’ concept before the 2008 general election. Our closest neighbor, India followed the strategy later as Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the ‘Digital India’ plan in 2014. Earlier Britain also commenced such a program,” reads the article.

The junior minister tried to focus on the transformation of the country from an agro-driven economy to a digital one.

In respective contents, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority Managing Director Bikarna Kumar Ghosh described the language movement as an inspirational event for the nation, and Foreign Affairs Ministry’s maritime affairs secretary Khurshed Alam termed the achievement of the maritime boundaries dispute significantly.

Bangla Academy Director General Mohammad Nurul Huda wrote the preface of the book while Inspiring Bangladesh Managing Director Imran Fahad is the chief executive editor of the publication under the banner of Bangla Prakash. UGC Assistant Secretary Probir Chandra Das played the role of principal coordinator of the project.

In the preface, noted litterateur Mohammad Nurul Huda said the publication will become a unique source for youths to know about the legacies of the country since it became an independent nation.
