Court issues warrants for arrest of Regent Group’s Shahed

Live Correspondent: A Dhaka court has issued warrants for the arrest of Regent Group chairman Shahed in connection with two cases filed against him on charge of embezzling Tk 3.68 crore.

Md Saifullah Masud, the owner of Masud Enterprise located Karwan Bazar in the capital, filed the cases on Monday with the court against Shahed.

Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mainul Islam passed the order regarding the arrest warrants asking the officer-in-charge of Uttara West Police Station to execute it by August 13.

Saifullah filed the first case against Shahed for not paying him Tk one crore after buying rods and cement from his shop in 2018.

In the second case, the trader accused Shahed of not paying any money after purchasing construction material worth Tk 2.68 crore.
