Gallantry awards of 4 Bangabandhu killers revoked

Live Correspondent: The government has revoked the gallantry titles of four self-confessed killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family in 1975.The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs issued a gazette notification in this regard on Sunday.

 
The four killers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman are SHBM Noor Chowdhury, Shariful Haque Dalim, Rashed Chowdhury, and Risaldar Moslehuddin.
 
Jatiya Muktijoddha Council in its 72nd meeting, held in February 2021, decided to recommend revoking gallantry awards of these four murderers.
 
For their contributions in the 1971 Liberation War, Noor was awarded the title Bir Bikram, Dalim with Bir Uttam, and Rashed and Moslehuddin were awarded the title Bir Protik.

Earlier the High Court ordered the government to suspend the state gallantry awards of the four convicted killers of the Father of the Nation.
