Humayun Azad murder trial to start on June 17

Live Correspondent: A Dhaka court today set June 17 to start placing arguments by the prosecution in a case lodged over the murder of prominent writer and Dhaka University Professor Dr Humayun Azad.
Dhaka 4th additional metropolitan sessions judge Maksuda Pervin set the date as the defence concluded placing statements on self defence today.
Professor Azad was mercilessly hacked by militants in Dhaka University area as he was returning from Amar Ekushey Book Fair on February 27, 2004. His brother Monjur Kabir filed a case over attempt to murder with Ramna Police Station the next day.
CID inspector and investigation officer Lutfur Rahman filed charge sheet against five, JMB militants Mizanur Rahman alias Minhaz, Anwar Alam alias Shahid, Salehin alias Salauddin, Hafiz Mahmud and Nur Mohammad alias Sabu, on April 30, 2012.
