JU & BSFMSTU Live: Jahangirnagar University (JU) Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Farzana Islam & Prof Dr Syed Samsuddin Ahmed, VC of Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib Science and Technology University, on Friday expressed profound shock at the death of renowned journalist, noted cultutal personality and veteran freedom fighter Kamal Lohani.

In a condolence message, the VC recalled the glorious career of Kamal Lohani and said that the death of Lohani has created a vacuum in the arena of journalism and culture which is an irreparable loss to the country.

Dr Farzana prayed for the eternal peace of his departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Kamal Lohani died at Sheikh Russel Gastroliver Institute and Hospital here this morning.

He had been undergoing treatment there with multiple health complications, including diabetes, lung, heart and kidney problems since May 16.He was later diagnosed with COVID 19 (Coronavirus) infection.

Prof Dr Syed Samsuddin Ahmed, VC of Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib Science and Technology University, Jamalpur today (Saturday) expressed profound shock at the death of Ekushey award winning journalist, noted cultural personality and veteran freedom fighter Kamal Lohani.

In a message of condolence, Dr Samsuddin Ahmed said, we have lost a personality having progressive mindset and an extraordinary fighter of non-communal spirit at the death of Kamal Lohani.

He said that Kamal Lohani played a pivotal role in the Bangalees’ Language Movement, establishing self-right and autonomy as well as the War of Liberation.
BSFMSTU's Vice-Chancellor prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.
