Live Correspondent: With the slogan, “Moving forward to the development with holding hands”, Protibondhi Shiksha O Punorbashon Sangstha (Education and Rehabilitation Center for the Persons with Disabilities), started its journey with a view to working for the physically challenged people and acquiring their basic rights.

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) President Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon inaugurated the ceremony at a programme held at Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall of Dhaka University with the founder of the center Md Abul Hossain, Social Service Affairs Secretary of DU Mohsin Hall Union in the chair yesterday.

While speaking, BCL President Shovon said, “This center will play key a role in achieving successes of the physically challenged people. Actually, they are not disabled but our national asset. I thank them who founded the club for the betterment of the persons with disabilities.”

DU Political Science department Professor Aynul Islam said, “Many physically challenged students are studying at Dhaka University. They must not to be ignored. They can do everything like any other person. I hope they will success in their future endeavors”

Dhaka University Journalists’ Association General Secretary Mahdi Al Muhtasim Nibir said, “Physically challenged people have the same rights according to our constitution. The laws regarding the interests of the persons with disabilities must be implemented properly. They have to participate in all development processes.”

While addressing as president, physically challenged Abul Hossain said, “I was elected as the social service affairs secretary at Mohsin Hall Union from the BCL panel. Then I realised that there are many works to do for physically challenged
persons and for the backward communities. Our club has been founded with the
aim of ensuring basic rights, education and job for backward physically
challenged students.”
