Women empowerment must for ensuring quality education
Live Correspondent: Speakers emphasised on women empowerment to ensure quality education and to reach the target of Sustainable Development Goals.
They made the call in a virtual session styled “Women empowerment through US Exchange program” as part of series of sessions celebrating International Education Week-2020 organized by Global Educators Initiative for Sustainable Transformation [GEIST] International Foundation.President, GEIST International Foundation, Biplob Kumar Dev attended the event as the guest of honour. Around 70 teachers and education leaders from home and abroad joined the event.Executive Director, GEIST International Foundation, Lizoon Nahar moderated the session.
Speakers said equality is very important to ensure quality education. The target of Sustainable Development Goals and the quality education for all could not be achieved unless the women and girls’ are empowered. So, girls need to be cared properly for their flourishment.
Secondary level education is very important for girls’ development. When girls finish secondary education, a lot of good things happen in their life and families.
Teachers, parents the community people should take special care and support to the girls for their upbringing aiming to build a beautiful world, they said.Schools can play a significant role for girls’ development. Teachers must select girls equally for the positions of student representatives in the schools. It should engage the girls in all extra-curriculum activities in order to develop confidence and leadership among the girls, added speakers.
They also noted that Project based learning and US Exchange program has got a huge impact of creating a sense of empowerment and internationalism among the girls.
