UGC signs performance agreements with 25 universities

Live Correspondent: The University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh on Saturday signed Annual Performance Agreements (APA) with 25 public universities of the country for the fiscal year 2021-2022. The signing ceremony of APAs for the 2021-22 fiscal year was held at the UGC auditorium in the city under the Performance Management Framework Policy of the government, said a press release here.
The commission will ink such agreements with the rest of the universities tomorrow, the release added. The APA has been introduced to enhance transparency and accountability in government activities, ensure proper utilization of resources and improve institutional capacity.
UGC Secretary and the registrars of the universities concerned signed the agreements on behalf of their respective sides. UGC Chairman Professor Dr. Kazi Shahidullah addressed the program as the chief guest with UGC member and convener of APA Team Prof. Dr. Md Abu Taher in the chair.
UGC has been working to ensure the overall progress of higher education, transparency, accountability, and encourage outcome-based activities, UGC Chairman said while addressing the function virtually.
