Singer Andrew Kishore passes away
Entertainment Live: Legendary singer Andrew Kishore, who had been battling cancer, has passed away at the age of 64. He breathed his last at 6:55 pm on Monday (today) while receiving treatment at a clinic in Rajshahi.
Dr Patrick Bipul Das, the brother-in-law of the singer, confirmed the death information to media. The singer had been undergoing treatment at a clinic owned by his sister Shikha Biswas in his hometown Rajshahi.
Earlier in the day, the singer was put on oxygen support as his health condition worsened around noon.
Meanwhile, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed their shock at the death of renowned singer of the country Andrew Kishore.
It was learned from media report on Sunday (yesterday) that the health condition of Andrew Kishore deteriorated further
His family physician informed journalist that Andrew Kishore is in a critical condition and he can’t speak. Andrew Kishore went to Singapore on September 9 last year and was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a cancer that originates in the lymphatic system.
After receiving treatment in Singapore, he returned home on June 11. And he was undergoing treatment at his sister’s house in Rajshahi.
Eight-time National Film Award-winning singer Andrew Kishore is known for evergreen songs including Jiboner Golpo Achhe Baki Olpo, Dak Diyachhen Doyal Amare, Haire Manush Rongin Fanush, Amar Shara Deho Kheyo Go Mati and Amar Buker Moddhe Khane among others.
