Alpana festival on 10-km road in Gaibandha begins

Entertainment Live: An Alpana (painting) festival on 10-km Gaibandha-Shaghata Road from Gaibandha police lines to Bhanga Mour area under Shaghata upazila began on Thursday amid much enthusiasm to the people of the district.

The slogan of the alpana festival is “Dekhabe Gaibandha, Dekhbe Desh, Record Korbe Bangladesh”.

Public University Students’ Association of Gaibandha (PUSAG) and the students of Public Medical Colleges have jointly arranged the initiative to draw the biggest alpana in the country marking the Mujib Year, the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

To set down a record regarding the alpana in the Guinness Book is one of the objectives of the alpana festival. President of the association Md. Jeem and general secretary AK Pramanik Partha said the alpana drawing on the road would be finished within 24 hours.
