Moushumi to play title role in ‘Annapurna’

Entertainment Live: Moushumi is one of the most celebrated film actresses in the country.  She has won the hearts of millions with her fabulous acting style. The popular artiste now will be seen in a new movie titled ‘Annapurna’.

Popular small screen director Ashutosh Sujon is directing the government-granted movie. The film is being made based on the Bangla Academy, Ekushey Padak, and Swadhinata Padak winning poet Nirmalendu Goon’s poem. 

Moushumi confirmed her acting in the movie yesterday. She will play the titular role in the film. About the film, Moushumi said, “Earlier, I’ve worked in many government-granted movies. The story of ‘Annapurna’ is amazing. Ashutosh Sujon is also a talented director. He always makes good projects. I believe ‘Annapurna’ will be a good film.”

“I will begin shooting for the movie ‘Sonar Char’directed by Zahid Hossain from next month. Then I will stand before the camera for ‘Annapurna,” she added.

Moushumi is a noted actress of the country. She began her acting career at an early age. She won the Ananda Bichittra Photo Beauty Contest, which led to appearances in TV commercials in the 1990s.

She first appeared in the movie ‘Keyamat Thake Keyamat’ with popular actor Salman Shah in   1993.  In 1996, she married another popular actor Omar Sani. The couple has two children.

Moushumi has acted in over 150 films and made her directorial debut with Kokhono Megh Kokhono Brishti in 2003. In September 2013, Moushimi was named a UNICEF goodwill ambassador. 

Moushumi also runs a production house, Kopotakhsma Cholochitra. She is associated with Projapoti Cholochitra and she looks after her own foundation, the Moushumi Welfare Foundation.
