7th year celebrations: EMK Center has arranged Bengali folk music

Live Correspondent: As a part of its 7th year celebrations, the Edward M. Kennedy Center has arranged an evening of Bengali folk music by authentic Baul(s) straight from the akhra of Kushtia.

The folk concert will take place at the EMK Center on September Sunday
at 6:30 pm.

EMK Center and Pally Baul Samaj Unnayan Shangstha jointly arranged for the musical
event. With a medley of Dhol, Mondira and Ektara, the performers for the concert will
be Baul Shirin, Baul Noyon and Baul Beauty.

The singers will perform songs originally composed by renowned musicians such as Hason Raja and Lalon Shah.

The performers, all from the Kushtia akhra, has been practicing and nurturing
Bangladeshi folk songs for many years now.
