Plasma therapy applied to Dr Zafrullah

 

 

Live Correspondent: Doctors of Gonoshasthaya Kendra Hospital on Tuesday applied plasma therapy on Covid-19 infected Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury’s body for coronavirus treatment.

The Founder and trustee of Gonoshasthaya Kendra was transfused 200ml plasma of ‘O’ positive blood on Tuesday evening after completing his regular kidney dialysis.

Dr Symum Arafat Pantha, Registrar of Anesthesia Department of Gonoshasthaya Kendra Hospital confirmed this to media.

The plasma transfusion was completed with the help of “Sandhani”, a voluntary organisation of medical and dental students, and the Department of Transfusion Medicine at Dhaka Medical College. Plasma donors have found through the tireless efforts of “Sandhani” volunteers.

Zafrullah Chowdhury has been staying at home isolation since Monday after he was tested positive for Covid-19.
