Covid deaths surge to 112 in Bangladesh

Live Correspondent: Bangladesh logged an additional 112 Covid-19 deaths and 4,271 infections in the past 24 hours on Monday counting the death toll to 10,497 and infections to 723,221 in the country.

A Directorate General of Health Services handout came up with the latest Covid-19 update. Among the deceased, 75 were male 37 female patients.

Some 24,152 specimens were tested in the timeline at 260 labs across the country. Bangladesh had tested a total of 51,94,219 specimens as of April 19.   

A total of 6,364 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 621,300.

Bangladesh on March 8, 2020 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18, 2020.
