187 more die in Bangladesh as Covid havoc continues

Live Correspondent: As Bangladesh continues to struggle with the deadly second wave of Covid-19, the country lost 187 more lives in 24 hours till Thursday morning.

With these, the total death toll has climbed to 18,685, according to a handout issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The virus also infects 3,697 others during the period. With these, the number of persons infected with the virus reached 11,40,200.

China reported its first death from the novel coronavirus in Wuhan, the capital of Central China’s Hubei province, on January 11 last year.

Bangladesh reported its first coronavirus case on March 8 last year and the first death on March 18 the same year.
