Covid-19 claims life of Jhalakathi's senior judicial magistrate

Jhalakati Live: Jhalakati senior judicial magistrate Sania Akhter died from Covid-19 infection on Wednesday morning. Sania died at 11am at Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH).

Supreme Court spokesperson Md Saifur Rahman informed media. SBMCH Director Dr Ms Saiful Islam said Sania was a seven-month pregnant.

Sania’s husband AHM Imranur Rahman is also serving as senior judicial magistrate in Jhalakati.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain expressed deep shock at the death of Sania Akhter.

He also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Jhalakathi senior judicial magistrate Sania Akter.

Sania, 29, died of coronavirus around 10am today at Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital. She tested positive for the virus on July 14.

The minister in a message of condolence prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family, an official release said.

Law and Justice Division Secretary Md Golam Sarwar in a separate message also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.

Born on August 1, 1992, in village Hoglakanda under Araihajar upazila of Narayanganja, Sania joined judiciary through 10th Bangladesh Judicial Service on March 1, 2018.
