'Children over 12 years old to get Covid-19 vaccine'

 

Live Correspondent: Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque have said Pfizer and Mordana vaccines will be given to the children who are above 12 years old of the country.

“According to the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO), vaccination of school and college students will depend on their age. If any student is aged over 18 years can receive any vaccine. However, Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are being given to students over 12 years old but less than 18 years in the developed world.

Students in our country will be vaccinated following the guidelines of the WHO,” he said.

Zahid Maleque made the remarks while visiting the Nursing and Midwifery examination center at Tejgaon Women's High School in the capital on Saturday. 

The health minister also said the vaccination program will restart at the union level based on the availability of vaccines.
