Live Correspondent: District administration has imposed restrictions on functioning of both the wholesale and retail markets and other shopping malls and commercial hubs in the district, including its city, after sunset amid the present escalating trend of Covid-19 cases.

Deputy Commissioner Abdul Jalil told the journalists that they took the decision for closure of shops and community centres after sunset to limit the virus spread. People have been discouraged from going out of their homes unnecessarily through loudspeakers at different parts of the city since this morning.

All the amusement centres and market places will be kept under close observation. Vigilance will be intensified to prevent any unnecessary mass-gathering at any places for the greater interests of the public in general. As a whole, the people will be encouraged towards maintaining health protection guidelines, specially wearing face masks in public places, strictly.
