Cop ‘commits suicide’ after posting Facebook status

Live Correspondent: A police man committed suicide by shooting himself after posting Facebook status at Mirpur-14 in the capital on Thursday morning. The deceased was identified as Md Kuddus, 31, a nayek of police, hailing from at Madhabpur upazila in Habiganj.

The tragic incident took place at 5:30 am at Police Line ground in the area.

Selimuzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kafrul Police Station, confirmed the incident.

The OC said, “We have heard his status on  Facebook. The matter is being investigated.”

The body of Kuddus was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College & Hospital for an autopsy, he said.
