Bangladesh confirms 22 more deaths, 2,381 new cases

Live Correspondent: Bangladesh reported 22 more deaths from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll in the country to 672.Besides, the confirmed coronavirus cases have jumped to 49,534 with the detection of 2,381 during the period.

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), came up with the disclosure in the daily online health bulletin in the afternoon.

She said highest 816 more patients recovered from COVID-19 disease in the last 24 hours, taking the number of people making recovery to 10,597. Prof Nasima said 11,439 samples were tested in 52 labs across the country during the period. With this, a total of 320,969 samples have so far been tested in the country.

On Sunday, Bangladesh reported 40 deaths from coronavirus and 2,545 cases.
Meanwhile, the global death toll from coronavirus has reached 373,960 as of Monday morning. Besides, it has so far infected 6,266,888 people around the world, according to Worldometer.

Of the currently infected 3,045,400 patients, 2,991,993 are in mild condition while 53,407 are in serious or critical condition. So far, 2,847,528 people have made recovery from the disease in different countries.

Coronavirus is affecting over 213 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11.
