Int’l Public Service Day tomorrow

Live Correspondent: The International Public Service Day will be observed in the country as elsewhere across the world tomorrow. The government has chalked out an elaborate programme to celebrate the International Public Service Day in a befitting manner through displaying its services before the public.

President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages conveying greetings to the officials-employees of the republic on the occasion of the International Public Service Day. In his message, President Abdul Hamid asked the officials-employees of the republic to ensure hassle-free services in the quickest possible time for the people.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her message said the government has been working to build a people-friendly and service-oriented public administration through ensuring transparency and accountability at all levels. A digital, effective and skilled public administration is being built to fulfill hopes and aspirations of the people, she added.

She hoped that members of the civil service will play an important role to turn Bangladesh into a developed and progressed nation through implementing Vision 2021 and 2041 of the government.

The Prime Minister said the members of the public administration should devote themselves with utmost sacrifice and sincerity for the welfare of the people. The present government has increased the salary of public servants up to 123 percent, she said, adding that increased the scope for taking training in training institutes of developed countries, including Harvard University and Hong Kong University.

She expressed the hope that the members of public administration would work maintaining dedication, sincerity and honesty to build ‘Sonar Bangla,’ dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
