Moon sighted in Bangladesh, Eid-ul-Fitr Friday

Live Correspondent: Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in the country tomorrow (Friday) as the new crescent moon of the Arabic month of Shawwal has been sighted, confirms National Moon Sighting Committee.

We extend our heartiest greetings to our readers and well-wishers on this auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. Eid Mubarak. The committee held a meeting on Thursday to confirm the sighting of the moon of Shawwal month.

The meeting was held at the conference room of Islamic foundation. After a month of fasting the Muslim community of the country welcomed the new crescent moon with happiness and enthusiasm.

President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina greeted the nation in separate messages on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

Besides, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address the nation at 7:15pm today.
