Live Correspondent: All universities across the country will reopen any day after September 27. Before that, the students will have to finish their COVID-19 vaccine registration.

This decision was taken on Tuesday at a virtual meeting of Education Minister Dipu Moni, the University Grants Commission (UGC), and vice-chancellors of the universities.

The vaccine registration work will have to finish by this period. Then, the authorities will start classes after getting the nod from academic councils of the universities, said the Ministry's public relation officer MA Khayer.

The students with NID cards can register under the Surokkha app and those who do not have the NID card can register with their birth registration number using apps regulated by the government, said UGC Secretary Prof Ferdous Zaman. Later, the DGHS will start vaccination following that list.
