8 of die as bus-microbus collide

Live Correspondent: At least eight people of a wedding party were killed and four others injured as a passenger bus and a microbus collided at Sreenagar upazila here this afternoon.

The collision between the bus and microbus took place in Shologhar area on the Dhaka-Mawa Highway around 2pm, leaving eight people dead on the spot and injuring four others, said Officer-in-Charge of Sreenagar police station Hedayatul Islam Bhuiyan.

However, details of the deceased could be known immediately. All the deceased comprising two women, two children and four men were passengers of the microbus. The bodies have been kept at Sreenagar police station while the injured people were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Police seized the bus and the microbus after the accident. Deputy Commissioner of Munshiganj Md Moniruzzaman and Superintendent of Police Zayedul Alam visited the spot after the accident.
