Khaleda Zia will not be able to go abroad for treatment: Minister

Live Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will not be able to go abroad for treatment.

The minister commented this while talking to reporters at his office at secretariat in Dhaka on Sunday. Earlier in the day, the law ministry sent the file back to the home ministry with comment on the application that sought BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's treatment permission in abroad.

According to Law Minister Anisul Haque, there is no scope for Khaleda Zia to go abroad as she is a convicted accused. The law ministry gave such an opinion on BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's application in connection with going abroad for treatment.

The BNP chairperson is undergoing treatment at the CCU of Evercare Hospital in the capital. She is in a stable condition. Khaleda Zia was diagnosed with Covid-19 on April 10.
