Omar Faruque sees no fault to flee country

Live Correspondent: Awami Jubo League Chairman Md Omar Faroque Chowdhury on Tuesday said he has not committed any crime so that he has to flee the country.  

Asked about media reports that the government imposed a travel ban on him so that can’t leave the country, the Jubo League chairman came up with the statement while talking to a reporter of a Bangla online news portal on Tuesday.

“I have not received any information about the travel ban. There is no reason to flee the country.

I am not the person, who will flee. I do politics. There may be mistakes while doing politics. Why will I flee?,” he said.

According to media reports, the government has imposed a travel ban on Omar Faroque Chowdhury, the chief of Jubo League, the youth wing of the ruling Awami League.

Earlier, on Thursday, Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of the Bangladesh Bank asked the authorities of different lenders to send bank statements of Omar Faroque Chowdhury.
