"Next AL committee to be forward-looking"
Live Correspondent: Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader today expressed his optimism that the next committee of Awami League would be forward-looking and well organised incorporating young and senior leaders under the leadership of party chief Sheikh Hasina.
“AL is a family where Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the guardian. We have to prove through our activities that AL is a well-organized party . . . the new committee would be a forward-looking one,” said Quader while talking to reporters after a joint meeting of party’s associate bodies and north and south units of Dhaka city at Bangabandhu Avenue party central office.
Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said, “We have to go forward under the guidance of party chief Sheikh Hasina upholding the ideals of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as he enunciated people is our strengthen and the source of all power.”
Quader presided over the meeting while AL presidium member Kazi Zafarullah, former minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, AL joint general secretaries Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, organising secretaries Ahmad Hussain, AFM Bahauddin Nasim and Enamul Huque Shamim, office secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, cultural affairs secretary Ashim Kumar Ukil, relief and social welfare secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, deputy-office secretary Barrister Biplab Barua, deputy publication secretary Aminul Islam Amin, Juba League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash, Dhaka city AL north unit president Abu Ahmed Monnafi, south unit president Sheikh Bazlur Rahman, north unit general secretary S M Mannan Kochi and south unit general secretary Humayun Kabir were present, among others.
