JNU Live: A first year female student (session 2019-2020) of Jagannath University (JnU) has been infected with coronavirus.

IEDCR last night (Tuesday) confirmed that the student, who lives in Dhaka's Uttara with her family, tested positive for Covid-19.

The student also confirmed the matter to media saying, "On April 5, I called a hotline number of the IEDCR as I suffered from some coronavirus-like symptoms for one week."

"Today an IEDCR team will come to my house to take me to a hospital where Covid-19 patients are being treated," she added.

Contacted, JnU Vice-Chancellor Prof Mijanur Rahman said, "We talked to the student's family today. They told us she feels better now."

The JnU authorities pledged before media that they would extend any kind of help if the student needs.
