DU Live: A Dhaka University (DU) teacher died from coronavirus in the city on Sunday night.

Prof Dr Shakil Uddin Ahmed, a teacher of DU Soil, Water and Environment department, breathed his last at Green Life Hospital around 8pm, said DU Proctor Prof AKM Golam Rabbani.

He was admitted to the hospital after he tested positive for Covid-19, the proctor said.

"Dhaka University was going through a good situation, but the news of Prof Shakil’s death shocked us deeply," said Rabbani. Professor Shakil joined the university in 2002.
