The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations were scheduled to begin on Apr 1, but the authorities concerned had to postponed those amid the coronavirus shutdown.
All the educational institutions in the country remined shut since Mar 17 last, and there is no visible sign in the improvement of the corona situation for the reopening of the schools, colleges and universities in the county.
Though the government officially lifted the shutdown from May 31, it did not allow reopening the educational institution amid the spike in the corona cases.
Dipu Moni said they will be able to take the exams within 15 days of a favourable situation creates in the country. “We must to give the students a 15-day notice to get ready for the exams.”
She said many people are talking about cutting down the syllabus for the exams which has no logic as students have completed the syllabus earlier.
The minister said public exams like HSC ones may pose a health risk to lakhs of students, families and law enforcers and teachers due to the coronavirus prevalence.
"So, we’re thinking whether we can do it in less time and whether we can take a smaller number of exams,” she added.
