NSU celebrates ‘Boshonto Utshob virtually
Nsu Live: The most colorful and lively events of whole year held at North South University is the Spring Festival. In the midst of this difficult time in the Corona pandemic, North South University Shangskritik Shangathan (NSUSS) has successfully organized one of its largest and most colorful events "Boshonto Utshob 1427" on February 14, 2021.
Keeping this new naturalness in mind, NSUSS are organizing spring festival through online live streaming, which is the first in the history of NSU. Members of North South University Shangskritik Shangathan attended the event in compliance with all kinds of hygiene rules and painted the premises of North South University as much as possible through their own handmade festoons, flyers and invitations.
The program begins with the Bengali song 'Spring has come' which is followed by some more beautiful traditional dances and folk songs. There were also flash mobs and flashbacks as the main attractions of the event. As always, the members of the Shangskritik Shangathan showcased their acting skills through their "Delightful Debate" section.
This captivating event ended with a touch of twilight red light. This is why the North South University Shangskritik Shangathan has once again proved that they have always been able to bring e-culture to the lives of day to day life of university students.
Mr. Mustafa Jabbar, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh was present as the Chief Guest. Founder Chairman & Director, Southeast Bank, Mr. M. A.Kashem, Former President, FBCCI and Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), North South University, Freedom Fighter Lion Mr.
Benajir Ahmed, Mr. Azim Uddin Ahmed, Mr. Aziz AI Kaiser and Ms. Rehana Rahman, Member, Board of Trustees, NSU were present as Special Guests.Dr. M. Ismail Hossain, Pro Vice-Chancellor, NSU was present as the Guest of Honor. Professor Atiqul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of North South University will chair the event.
Speaking as the Chief Guest, Honorable Minister, Mr. Mustafa Jabbar said, “Our language and culture are very rich. We are a nation that has given lives for language and has liberated the country by fighting for language. Spring is the festival of our lives; it is mixed with our roots.”Addressing the youth, he said,
"It doesn't matter what you are studying, you have to acquire digital skills which is more important now. At present, the country's business, trade, education and medical sectors are advancing rapidly using digital technology. In its continuation, even 72% of the people affected by this corona virus have received treatment through telemedicine services and classes are being taken through online platform.” He thanked the authorities of North South University for organizing such an event under the auspices of Bengali culture.”
Speaking as the Special Guest, Chairman, Board of Trustees, NSU, Mr. M. A. Kashemsaid, “We used to know that countries of Europe as the country of flowers but seeing the mesmerizing beauty of Bangladesh now I think the country of flower in the whole world is Bangladesh. In the midst of this catastrophe, we are still online, and celebrating the Spring Festival is a great achievement.
At North South University, we celebrate all kinds of festivals of Bengali culture in a grand manner.”In the meantime, he called upon the students to celebrate the spring festival in a festive atmosphere and keep them engaged in the service of the country besides their studies.
Vice-Chancellor of North South University, Professor Atiqul Islam said, “Festivals are disappearing from our country day by day. The spring festival is the festival of our souls. May everyone's mind develop like the petals of a spring flower. May our students be more nourished following the prevailing trend of Bengali culture.” At this time, he dedicated this year's spring festival to Late Mr. M. A. Hashem, Former Chairman and Member, Board of Trustees, North South University.
Among others, Prof. Dr. Abdur Rob Khan, Dean, School of Humanities & Social Sciences, Prof. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Dean, School of Business & Economics, Dr. Gour Gobinda Goswami, Director, Office of Student Affairs, Directors of various departments, Department Heads, Ms. Rumana Huq Luva, Faculty Advisor of North South University Shangskritik Shangathan, senior officials, teachers and students were also present at the program.
