North South University graft case accused Amin goes 'missing' from Uttara

Live Correspondent: Amin Mohammad Hilali, one of the accused in the North South University graft case, has reportedly gone missing from Uttara.

His brother Rafiqul Islam Hilali filed a general diary (GD) with Uttara West police station in this regard. Amin Mohammad Hilali is the managing director of Ashaloy Housing.

According to Rafiqul Islam, his brother left his house in Uttara Sector 11 for Sector 13 around 8pm on Friday. Since then, his number was found switched off and he did not return.

On May 5, the ACC filed a case against NSU Trustee Board chairman Azim Uddin Ahmed and four members— MA Kashem, Benajir Ahmed, Rehana Rahman and Mohammed Shajahan and Ashaloy Housing, and Developers Ltd Managing Director Amin Md Hilaly for embezzling over Tk 303.82 crore of the university.

The accused misappropriated the money in the name of purchasing 9,096.88 decimals of land in Rupganj of Narayanganj district at an overvalued rate.

Amin Hilali is the sixth accused in the case. The people concerned think that the disappearance of Amin Hilali after filing of this case is mysterious.

Shah Md Akteruzzaman Iliyas, officer-in-charge (OC) of Uttara West police station said Hilali's brother had lodged a GD in this regard. The matter is being investigated.
