NSU & University of Miyazaki Inaugurate the B-JET 12th Batch Program

 

NSU Live: The orientation program of the 12th batch of the Bangladesh Japan IT Engineer Training Program (B-JET), in collaboration with North South University, was held on 3rd April 2023 at 9:00 am. The program took place online via the Zoom platform and psychically at the syndicate hall at NSU premises. The B-JET training program was first initiated through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), North South University (NSU), and The University of Miyazaki (UoM) on 24th February 2021. It aims to support the capacity development of Bangladeshi ICT engineers and future ICT engineers who have the potential to create business networks between Japan and Bangladesh.

After briefly introducing all the trainees of the B-JET program, Professor Mohammad Khasro Miah, Ph.D., Director, CPC, delivered the inaugural remarks. He talked about the program's theme, the strength of Japan's IT industry, and the job opportunities they offer. He stated that the B-JET program would not only enhance employment opportunities in Japan but also provide a prospect to learn the best IT knowledge from Japanese IT industries, which will further help to develop the Japanese IT business in Bangladesh.

He also encouraged students to enrich soft skills like being attentive, punctual, disciplined, persevering, resilient, time management, and self-awareness. In addition, trainees will get acquainted with Japanese work culture and behavior and by adopting these cultural norms trainees will increase their chances of securing jobs in Japanese companies. Professor Ismail Hossain, Pro Vice-Chancellor of North South University, was present as a special guest. He articulated that, the B-JET training program will open windows for success both in Japan and Bangladesh.

The graduate Computer Science and Engineering students need to know the basic Japanese language which will elevate their employability. In addition, all the trainees will receive a certificate after completion of the training. Hence, B-JET will unlock doors for job opportunities. The successful trainees who would secure jobs in Japan will be an asset to Bangladesh. They will contribute directly to the economy of Bangladesh which will increase the remittance for Bangladesh.

Professor Keisuke Murakami, Vice-President (International Relations) of The University of Miyazaki, concluded the session by delivering a closing speech. His speech was followed by the wonderful appreciation of our honorable guest Mr. Kenichi Wajima, Unit Director of Globalgeeks Inc. (BJIT Group). Furthermore, Professor Keisuke Murakami expressed his hopes about this program, stating,

"I sincerely hope that the B-JET program starting here today will help the employment sector of both countries, especially the IT sector in Japan." At the inaugural session, Mr. Yuki Morishita, Head of B-JET in Japan joined the inaugural session virtually from Japan and introduced all the Japanese industry representatives. In addition, Ms. Sayuri Ogino, Representative Director of B&M, and Mr. Fumikatsu Honma, Managing Director of Shinkoshuppansha Keirinkan Co., Ltd,

were also present at the program as guest speakers and delivered insightful speeches. Furthermore, they acknowledged all the stakeholders associated with the program. Following the successful ceremony, all the guests and attendees participated in a photo session. The training program commenced immediately after the inauguration ceremony.
