North South University Shines at the Country's Largest Education Expo

NSU Live: North South University (NSU) made a significant mark at the grand Education Expo organized by the Education Reporters Association of Bangladesh (ERAB). The prestigious event took place at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the capital, attracting a multitude of public and private universities, polytechnic institutes, and various educational institutions. With an array of research, publications, and innovations on display, NSU showcased its academic prowess and commitment to excellence.

The day-long expo proved to be a platform for more than 60 educational institutions to highlight their latest achievements and developments. The event also featured two seminars focusing on the crucial topics of academic-industry linkage and research and PhD opportunities in private universities.

 

As the chief guest, Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni, MP graced the occasion with her presence and shared her thoughts on the advancements made by private universities in Bangladesh. Dr. Dipu Moni acknowledged the interest shown by these institutions in awarding PhD degrees and urged the University Grants Commission (UGC) to delve further into the matter.

 

The NSU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Atiqul Islam, expressed his pride in the university's accomplishments during a video message as a special guest. He announced that five universities in Bangladesh, including NSU, have been ranked among the top 1800 universities worldwide in the renowned Times Higher Education Ranking. Professor Atiqul Islam expressed his belief that this list would continue to expand in the future, signifying the nation's academic growth and global recognition.

 

In addition, Professor Dr. Sk. Tawfique M. Haque, the Chair of the Department of Political Science and Sociology and Director of the South Asian Institute of Policy and Governance (SIPG) at NSU, emphasized the importance of PhD programs and research in private universities. His remarks shed light on the crucial role these institutions play in fostering scholarly advancement and producing quality research.

 

Javed Munir Ahmed, a member of the Board of Trustees of NSU, delivered a closing ceremony speech, highlighting the success of the expo and its significance in providing comprehensive information to students aspiring for higher education both domestically and internationally.

 

ERAB orchestrated this educational extravaganza, aiming to facilitate students' access to a wide range of information and opportunities under one roof. The expo commenced at 9 am and concluded at 8 pm, welcoming visitors from all walks of life.

 

The Education Expo not only showcased the achievements of North South University but also served as a testament to the continuous progress and dedication of Bangladesh's educational sector. With its participation in such prestigious events, NSU reaffirms its commitment to providing quality education and contributing to the nation's academic growth.
