28 JUST students expelled for drug addiction

JUST Live: Jashore University of Science and Technology vice-chancellor professor Md Anwar Hossain said that a total of 28 students were expelled from the university for their involvement in drug addiction, ragging and anti-disciplinary activities in the last two years.

Strict steps were taken against those who were involved in any form of mischievous acts, he said at a press conference on the campus, marking two years in office as VC on Sunday. 

Without mentioning the ruling party leaders, the VC said that in his two years tenure, he had been threatened many times and was also proposed by a quarter of student leaders to allow unlawful activities on the university campus which he declined.

The press conference was also attended by treasurer Abdul Majid, registrar Ahsan Habib, proctor Mizanur Rahman, president of Teachers’ Association Iqbal Kabir Jahid and the association’s general secretary Nazmul Ahsan, among others.
