HC asks Jahangirnagar University to halt teachers recruitment

 

JU Live: The High Court (HC) has asked the authorities of Jahangirnagar University to halt teachers' recruitment activity through online viva till June 20. The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman on Tuesday set the date for passing an order in this connection and asked authorities to suspend the recruitment activity till then. 

A writ petition was filed with the HC challenging the legality of the appointment of six teachers of the philosophy department of Jahangirnagar University on June 10.

The petition also sought a stay on the recruitment. Education Secretary, UGC Chairman, Jahangirnagar University Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, and others concerned have been made respondents in the writ petition.
