IU teacher Akram Hossain dies of Covid-19

IU Live: Dr. Akram Hossain Majumdar, professor of Law Department at Islamic University (IU), died from coronavirus infections at a hospital in the capital early hours of Tuesday.

Dr. Akram, who was the president of the Department, breathed his last at Ibn Sina Hospital in Dhaka at 1:00 am while undergoing treatment.

According to the law department of the university, he was admitted to the hospital in Kalyanpur a few days ago after contracting the virus. He was taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital on July 16 after his condition deteriorated.

Akram Hossain, the former Dean of the Faculty of Law, was later placed on life support on Sunday. He had been serving as Provost of the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Hall of the University.
