Senate meeting to nominate DU VC panel July 31

DU Live: A special senate session to nominate three-member Vice-Chancellor (VC) panel will be held on July 31 at Dhaka University (DU).
DU VC Professor Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman urged to hold the special senate meeting under the Article 21(1) of Dhaka University Order-1973 on 3:30 pm at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on the campus, said a DU press release.
A three-member VC panel will be nominated at the meeting so that President Abdul Hamid, also the Chancellor of the university may appoint anyone from the panel as the DU VC under the Article 11(1) of Dhaka University Order.
The article 11 (1) says, “The Vice-Chancellor shall be appointed by the Chancellor for a period of four years from a panel of three persons to be nominated by the Senate on such terms and conditions as may be determined by the Chancellor, and shall be eligible for re-appointment for a further period of four years.”
