RTI training held at Nazrul University

 

Live Correspondent: A day-long training workshop on 'Right to Information Act and Grievance Redressal Management' was held at Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University. 

The training was organized at the conference room of the university's administrative building on Thursday (December 22) in collaboration with the university's APA cell.

In the speech of the chief guest, the Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Soumitra Shekhar said  “Storing and providing information with security is also the responsibility of every teacher, officer, and employee of the university. 

If the confidentiality of information is lost or stolen due to someone's negligence, the concerned person will also be responsible under the Right to Information Act.  People have the right to know information. 

There is also a person assigned to provide information.  Anyone can provide any information.  Our aim is to create a free flow of information while following the rules and norms as much as possible.”

“Everyone should know about the Right to Information Act.  Access to information has been established as a citizen's right through this act.  This law is very important to ensure transparency and accountability of the organization. 

This law is also helpful in ensuring the good governance and free democracy of the country,” the Vice-Chancellor said.

University registrar Dr. Md  Humayun Kabir presided over the training workshop while  Additional Director (Public Relations) SM Hafizur Rahman gave a welcome speech at the event.

Mymensingh District Information Officer Sheikh Shahidul Islam Naushad and Additional Director (Audit) Radheshyam trained as resource persons.
