Prof ASM Lutful Ahasan new VC of CVASU

 

CVASU Live: Dr. ASM Lutful Ahasan, Professor of Anatomy and Histology department of Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) was appointed as the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the university.

The country’s President and university Chancellor Md Abdul Hamid appointed him to the post for the next four-year term, a notification issued by the Education Ministry on Sunday said.

Dr. Ahasan was one of the students of the first batch of the university, which was established in 1996 as Chittagong Government Veterinary College (GCC).

Later, he received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Chittagong University and MSc in Molecular Biology from the Interuniversity Programme Molecular Biology (IPMB) organized by Vrije University Brussels, Katholieke University Leuven, Antwerpen University and Ghent University, Belgium.

He completed his Ph.D. degree from the University of Milan in Italy in 2015.

Prof Ahasan joined as a lecturer at the department of Anatomy and Histology of the CVASU in 2003 and served as an Assistant Professor from 2008 until 2012 and an Associate Professor from 2012 until 2017.

Prof Ahasan has a strong record of research in his area and he received a number of awards and fellowships from different prestigious organizations like the VLIR-UOS Scholarship, Belgium, NFP Scholarship, The Netherlands, and the University of Milan Ph.D. scholarship.
