RU launches ‘Kamaruzzaman-Jahanara Zaman Foundation Scholarship’

RU Live: Rajshahi University (RU) has launched ‘Shaheed Kamaruzzaman and Jahanara Zaman Foundation Scholarship’ in memory of Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman, one of the four national leaders, and his wife late Jahanara Jaman.

AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation and elder son of Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman and Jahanara Zaman, handed over a bank cheque worth Taka 25 lakh to RU Vice-chancellor Professor Abdus Sobhan at a simple ceremony at Senate Building here today.

In every three months, one student from the departments of Law, History, Psychology, Computer Science and Engineering and Economics will get the scholarship of Taka 3,000 from the fund.

Pro-vice-chancellors Prof Ananda Kumar Shaha and Prof Chowdhury Jakaria and Registrar Prof Abdul Bari, Liton’s wife Shaheen Akter Rainy and sister Rawshan Akter Rumi were present on the occasion.
