''No age bar for admission in polytechnic institutes''

Live Correspondent: Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni on Wednesday said there will be no age bar for admission in polytechnic institutes of the country in order to create skill manpower. The minister said many people might have necessary technical skills but they are facing difficulties for want of academic certificates.

Many of them are not getting good jobs or the persons who have jobs are not getting handsome salary due to lack of credentials, she added. “If the person wants and if he/she has the required academic qualifications for admission, then he/she would be able to take admission in a diploma course,” she also added.

Dipu Moni made the remarks while addressing a virtual meeting regarding the development of technical education while Technical and Madrasah education division secretary Munshi Shahabuddin in the chair.

She also said the government has given utmost importance to technical education as the world needs skilled manpower.

“The present government is giving emphasis on technical education for facing challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Implementation of Vision 2041 announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” she said.

Deputy Education Minister Mohibul Hassan Nowfel, Director General of Directorate of Madrasah Education Safiuddin Ahmed, Director General of Directorate of Technical Education Md Sanwar Hossain were also present at the meeting, among others.
