Sports Live: Mohammedan Sporting Club appealed to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) to lift the sanction against all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. Shakib was slammed with a three-match suspension and fined Tk five lakh after the ace all-rounder was found guilty of breaching the BCB code of conduct twice during Mohammedan’s game against Abahani Limited at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Friday.

“Shakib Al Hasan, the Mohammedan captain, is repentant for his act. Mohammedan Sporting Club, too, is very embarrassed and sorry for the incident. We request the disciplinary committee of the BCB to lift the three-match suspension, upholding the financial penalty.

If Shakib repeats this behavior in the ongoing tournament, the suspended sentence will be upheld,” Mohammedan wrote to BCB president Nazmul Hasan.

CCDM member secretary Ali Hossain confirmed the media about the BCB having received the letter from Mohammedan. The CCDM, however, cannot make a decision as the letter has been written addressing the president of the board.
