Junior Tigers in search of proper combination
Sports Live: Bangladesh Under-19 showed an impressive performance by reaching the final of Under-19 tri-nation, involving also India and hosts England but their coach Naved Newaz said they are yet to find out the proper combination for the side.
Bangladesh lost to India in the final to be left satisfied with runners-up trophy but considering the condition, Naved said the result was pretty well.
Junior Tigers are expected to tour New Zealand after completing stint in the Asia Cup and according to the coach they are trying to make sure they are well prepared before the World Cup by trying out all their options in the upcoming months.
”I think in England boys played pretty well. Most of the things we did right we prepared for that tour for a long time. Looking for that tour from January last year preparation of wicket and how we train. We did pretty well the boys responded to the training method.
”There are few issue and concern with the pace bowling. I expected them to do well with the change of condition which was suited for the fast bowler. Comparing with Bangladeshi wicket the pace bowler will enjoy the pace bounce and weather of England because they are conducive to fast bowling.
The 2020 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup is scheduled to be held in South Africa from 17 January to 9 February 2020. It will be the thirteenth edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup, and the second to be held in South Africa.
