Sports Live: In their first series in World Test Championship (WTC), Bangladesh experienced a bitter taste of whitewash at the hands of India, losing both of the matches by innings margin.

Hence they couldn’t gather any point and staying at the second to bottom place in WTC point table. South Africa currently is languishing at bottom place, after collecting no points like Bangladesh but the Proteas played three matches, all those against India and whitewashed duly.

India bolstered their position in point table with maximum 360 points from seven matches. They won all of those matches. Australia is in the second place with 116 points in six matches while New Zealand and Sri Lanka is at third position with 60 points in two matches.

But it was particularly harsh for Bangladesh who came here with the expectation to put up fight at least following their good performance in three-match T20 series, in which they lost by 2-1.

Bangladesh won the first T20 match at Delhi before a Rohit Sharma special subdued them in second game. The Tigers were in winning position in third match at Nagpur before a sensational collapse saw them losing the match and squandered the series.

However at Indore in the first Test they were undone by Indian pacers and lost the match by an innings and 130-run margin. The similar thing happened in the second Test, their maiden day-night Test, in iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. This time they tasted more harsh experience as they became the first team to replace two players for the concussion issue.
