ICT-based education to build digital Bangladesh

IT live: Live: Spreading of the information and communication technology (ICT) based science education among young students would help them in acquiring knowledge easily for building a developed digital Bangladesh.

The opinion came at a function arranged at Sadar upazila parishad auditorium on Thursday afternoon for distribution of digital sound systems among 176 government primary schools (GPSs) of Sadar upazila in the district.

The digital equipments were distributed under the Fourth Primary Education Development Programme to launch academic activities in multimedia classrooms to make lessons easily understandable for primary level students. Earlier on July 10 last year, laptops were distributed among authorities of these GPSs for improving quality of primary education and enhancing skill of primary school teachers in preparing digital contents.

Sadar Upazila Chairman Nasima Zaman Boby as the chief guest distributed the digital equipments among head teachers of 176 GPSs in the function organised by Sadar Upazila Primary Education Office. With Sadar Upazila Primary Education Officer Zakirul Islam in the chair, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ishraat Sadiya Sumi, Upazila Engineer Shamsul Arefin Khan and Assistant Engineer of the Department of Public Health and Engineering Asaduzzaman Zemi addressed the occasion as special guests.

The chief guest said during the tenure of the present government, epoch- making successes have been achieved in the education sector in last ten years. “The primary school teachers, SMC members and guardians should work unitedly to run multimedia classrooms for successful implementation of the government’s digitisation programme for faster development of the country,” she added.
