”Secondary students' annual exams cancelled”

Live Correspondent: This year's final examinations of the students of secondary level has been cancelled.
National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) will set a new syllabus for the students of VI-IX in short form and they will be given weekly assignments. After evaluating the assignments, the students will be promoted.
 
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni informed this at a virtual press conference on Wednesday.
 
She said, "The students will have to finish four assignments within 30 days from the syllabus prepared by the NCTB. The syllabus will be sent to the chiefs of all educational institutions across the country by the NCTB. And those will be reach to the students through the teachers. The students can submit the assignments via online or at their respective institutions.
 
Deputy minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, technical and madrasa education secretary Md Aminul Islam Khan, chairmen of the education board were also present.
 
The government announced the closure of all schools and other educational institutions in the country on March 17 following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus. The shutdown period has since been extended on several occasions, most recently until October 31.
