Live Correspondent: Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni has come up with a plan for launching a specific television channel for holding classes of students digitally throughout the year.

Replying to a question of lawmaker Naogaon-2 Shahiduzzaman Sarker, the education minister revealed this information in the parliament on Thursday. Educational institutions across the country were shut down in March last year after Bangladesh reported its first cases of coronavirus.

Students are yet to return to classes despite repeated attempts to reopen institutions. The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations of 2020 also had to be canceled but students were assessed on the basis of their performances in the JSC and SSC exams.

Students were also promoted to the next grade without having to sit for the annual exams.

In an effort to make up for the learning loss, the authorities decided to hold online classes while lessons were also broadcast by Sangsad TV.
